We all know that India is one of the leading countries not only in the Asian region, but throughout the world in terms of the development of medical services and the pharmaceutical industry. Over the past 20 years, one can observe a sharp increase in the number of patients arriving in this country for the purpose of treatment from different parts of the world. In 2017 alone, the number of patients who arrived in India in search of healing amounted to 500,000 people. It is expected that the contribution of the medical tourism industry to the country's economy in 2020 will amount to 9 billion US dollars. This, in turn, leads to an increase in demand for doctors in India, increasing the prestige of this profession to society. However, today in India there is a shortage of doctors. According to the Indian Medical Council, about 930,000 doctors registered throughout the country currently serve 750,000 of them in this area. In India today, the doctors to patient ratio is 1:1800. Considering that according to the standards of the World Health Organization, about 1000 patients should fall into 1 doctor, the problem of shortage of medical personnel is one of the most pressing problems facing the government of India.

The Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, that is, the MBBS program (Bachelor of Medicine and bachelor of surgery), is one of the most sought-after areas in the country. For the 2019-2020 school year, the government allocated 67,000 places to public and private medical schools for this educational program. The abundance of applicants wishing to study in the MBBS program, the limited quota provided by the state, as well as the high tuition fees prompting Indian citizens to choose higher educational institutions of Central Asia as a destination to study MBBS.
